Contract for publishing this Gazette, entered into on the 24th September, 1853, was terminated on the 30th ultimo; and notice is hereby at a NEW SERIES of this Gazette will be published hereafter, to commence from the 7th instant, under a New Contract, and that “THE HONGKONG, GOVERNMENT GAZETTE"

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Whereas by the Verdict of a Coroner's Jury, certain Person or Persons unknown have been declared guilty of wilful murder of a Chinese, name unknown, but answering to the name of CELESTIAL, late a Servant on board American Ship Mastiff, recently lying in this Harbour: Notice is hereby given, that

A FREE PARDON,

AND A SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS,

given as a REWARD for such Evidence as shall lead to the Conviction of the Person or Persons actually the above murder,-such Person or Persons so proved actually guilty being excepted from all benefit of
