With reference to Government Notification No. 101, His Excellency The Governor is pleased to direct the deation of the following additional letter from the Red Sea and India Telegraph Company, covering amended ico of the Scale of Charges for Telegraphic Messages.

SIR,-In reference to my letter of the 27th ultimo, announcing the completion of the Malta-Sicilian line of Telegraph, I have the honour form you that the Tariff therein contained for Messages by that route is not correctly stated, and I now beg to enclose an amended copy
charges as at present established.
2. We were originally informed that no Messages would be forwarded through the Italian States, except in French or Italian, but an intimation has recently been received, that the Neapolitan, Roman, and other Governments have consented to through-Messages between and the United Kingdom being transmitted in the English language.
3. I beg to call your attention to the withdrawal from the present notice, of the clause referring to the repeating charge for Messages at rates, which has been cancelled in consequence of the difficulty experienced in carrying out the arrangement on the Continental Lines.- Be the honour to be, your obedient Servant,

Notice is hereby given that this Company will be prepared to transmit Messages for the Publie on and after the 1st of October, and till notice, between ALEXANDRIA and ADEN; and that the following scale of charges has been fixed for through Messages over this portion eir line, viz: For a Message of Twenty words, including the address —

Arrangements have been concluded with the Indian Government and the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company with
to Messages between INDIA and ADEN.
A uniform rate for a single Message of Twenty words has been fixed at two Rupees (43.) throughout India. The total charge per single ero from ALEXANDRIA to any Telegraph Station in INDIA will thus be £2. 43.
The Directors bave also entered into a provisional agreement with the Electric and International Telegraph Company for the transmission ir Mesages to and from Alexandris, and Agents have been specially appointed for that purpose.
The only routes at present available between this Conary and Alexandria are those vid Marseilles, Trieste, and Malta, whilst there is probability that a direct communication with Alexandria will be established through Constantinople in the course of a few weeks. In the mean time Messages for the Red Sea, In lia, Australia, or China, can be despatched from any Station of the Electric and Inter-
al Telegraph Company, ohi Trieste or M trscilles, at the following rates:
