Parties indebted to the Crown on account of Rent due on this 25th of June, are requested to pay the same

into the Treasury on or before the 17th proximo; after which date the Crown Solicitor will be requested to proceed against all Defaulters for Arrears due as above.

POST-OFFICE NOTIFICATION.

HE Next GENERAL MAILS per Steamer “SINGAPORE,” will close on MONDAY, the 4th instant, at 6 o'clock P.M.

The usual SUPPLEMENTARY MAILS will be made up on the following morning. LETTERS received from 9 to 11 o'clock A.M., for a late fee of 64., NEWS- PAPERS ld.; and from 11 A.M. to half-past 12 o'clock P.M., for a late fee of 1s. on each LETTER, and 2d. on each NEWSPAPER.

Al Letters and Newspapers posted between the hours of 11 A.M. and half-past 12 o'clock P.M. must be prepaid,

NOTICE.

THE Interest and Responsibility of Mr JAMES BOWMAN in the firms of W.H.WARDLEY & Co. of Hongkong, and JAMES BOWMAN & Co. of Shanghae, cease on this date.

Our Business will be conducted by the remaining Partners-Mr FRANCIS BULKELEY JOHN- SON, and Mr ALFRED JAMES HOW, at Shang- hae, under the style of JOHNSON & Co.; and at Hongkong, until further notice, as before.

A Written Declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overland Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shipper to the Company's Agents with the Bills of Lading or with Parcels; and the Company do not hold themselves responsible for any Detention or Prejudice which may happen from incorrectness on such declaration.
