GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
The following Notice respecting alteration of the Colombo Light has been received from the Government of Ceylon, and is published for the information of Mariners.

UNIVERSAL NOTICE TO MARINERS. COLOMBO LIGHT, CEYLON.

COLOMBO, September 1st, 1860. All Ships visiting Colombo, are hereby warned that the Light has been shifted permanently, from the Old Light-house to the Clock Tower; the Clock Tower bears S. 45° E. Two hundred and Fifty yards from the Old Light-house, and is Thirty-five feet higher, so that the Light can be seen further off.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
In consequence of irregularities in the record of Funerals at the Protestant Cemetery in the Wong- nei-chung Valley, it is hereby notified that in future all Clergymen performing, or others conducting, a Funeral will be required to give due notice to the Sexton, without whose presence or pass ticket the Funeral Party will not be admitted within the Cemetery; and Clergymen officiating at Funerals, or others charged with the conduct of them, are enjoined to see the requisite Entries of the same duly made in the Record Book kept for that
purpose.
