GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
It is hereby notified, that under the terms of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 11 of 1844, and Section 1 of Ordinance No. 7 of 1858, Friday the 9th day of November next, is fixed for a Special Sessions of the Justices of the Peace, to be held at the Office of the Chief Magistrate of Police, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon of that day, for the purpose of considering Applications for Licenses for the sale of Spirituous and Fermented Liquors, during the year commencing the 1st December next.
Applications for such Licenses must be lodged at the Chief Magistrate's Office, at least Ten Days before the Sessions, in the Form prescribed by the above quoted Section of the first mentioned Ordi- nance; and no Application will after that period be received for submission to the Sessions.
Printed Forms of Applications may be obtained by intending Applicants, at the Chief Magistrate's Office, on Weck Days between the hours of 10 A.M. and 4 P.M.

HARBOUR MASTER'S OFFICE, 15th October, 1860.
All Persons intending to apply for Seamen's Boarding House Licenses for the year 1860-61 under Ordinance No. 6 of 1852 are to send in their applications in writing to this Office on or before Monday 5th November next, stating accurately the posi- tion of the House, and that there is an entire dwelling intervening between it, and any House licensed for the sale of Spirituous or Fermented liquors.
In measuring the Rooms, strict regard will be paid to the Regulations laid down on January 1st, 1855, and no License will be granted to any House that does not come within the full meaning of the Ordinance.
Before a License can be issued the applicant will require to get the sanction of the Chief Magistrate to its being granted. The Transferrence of Licenses, except under extraordinary circumstances, will for the future be discontinued, but in all eases Boarding House Keepers wishing to resign their Licence, may do so by returning it to this Office to be cancelled.

Kellett's Island bearing E.S.E.
All Ships to be properly moored with 35 Fathoms chain (East and West.)
The passage between North Boundary of Man-of-war anchorage and the Kow-loong Peninsula to be kept clear. The Mail Steamers to moor near the Fort William.
The Harbour Master reserves to himself the right to order Ships likely to remain here for any great length of time to moor as near the Northern Harbour Boundary as the depth of water will allow.
