The following Hydrographic Notice, issued by His Excellency The Naval Commander-in-Chief, is published for the information of Mariners and others whom it may concern.

Chesapeake, TALIen-whan Bay, 4th July, 1860. HYDROGRAPHICAL NO. 13.

ENCOUNTER ROCK-This Rock discovered by H. M. S. Encounter to the Southward of Talien-whan Harbour is above

Water and in Lat. 38° 34′ N., Long. 121° 36′ E., in the direct line between Chefou and Talien-whan Bay. HESPER ROCK.-H. M. S. Acteon gives the position of this Rock in Lat. 38° 13′ N., Long, 120° 51′ E., being 9 miles

N.W. by W. of the position assigned by the Master of the Hesper.

FISHERMAN ROCK.-This Rock was discovered by H. M. S. Acteon; it is in Lat. 38° 18′ N., Long. 120° 44′ E.

The Islands about the Mian-tau Straits are reported to be 8 miles further West than placed on the Admiralty Chart. ROUND ISLAND.-This Island is in Lat. 38° 39′ N., Long. 123° 10′ E.
