FORM OF MORTGAGE.

By virtue of the Ordinance No. 12 of 1860 I [herein give the name of the Governor executing the Mortgage} Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, in consideration of paid to the Colonial Treasurer of the said Colony by 4.B. of for the purposes of the said Ordinance, Do grant and assign unto the said A.B., his Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, such proportion of the Rates, Profits, and other Monies arising or accruing by virtue of the said Ordinance from the Water Rate thereby authorized to be imposed as the said Sum of

It is hereby notified that Twelve Months' leave of absence has been granted by His Excellency The Governor to The Honorable JosEpii Jardine, Esquire, Member of the Legislative Council of this Colony.

Whereas early this morning the Police Constables ADO ANTONIO DA ROCHA, and Joaquim MARIA. while in the execution of their duty, were wilfully murdered by a Gang of Chinese Burglars in or near Jervois Street in this City :-

Notice is hereby given, that A FREE PARDON and A REWARD OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS will be given to any Person, the actual Perpetrators of the Murders excepted,-who shall give such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of one or more of the Guilty Parties.
