which is 2d. for a Leiter not exceeding a quarter of an ounce in weight, and 4d. for a Letter above a quarter and not exceeding half an ounce, the following reduced British and Foreign postage, will, during the continuance of hostilities, be charged upon such Letters, which are sent via Marseilles, viz. :-

Such Letters will however only be sent through France when specially addressed via Marseilles in Red Ink on the left hand upper corner, and signed by the Officer having command of the Vessel, or of the Regiment, Corps, or Detach- ment to which any person privileged under this regulation belongs.

The privilege enjoyed by Soldiers and Seamen of sending their Letters by British Packet by way of Southampton for a Postage of One Penny will not be disturbed.

́HEREAS en action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above- named THOMAS BERNARD CAHILL against the above-named HENRY WILLIAM HYATT to recover the Sum of Eight hundred Dollars and Interest under a Promissory Note made by the said HENRY WILLIAM HYATT dated the Twenty-third Day of May One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty-nine, and it being alleged that the said HENRY WILLIAM YATT docs not reside within this Island or its Dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the Ninth Day of May, 1860, wherein EDWARD PARKER, of the “Albion Hotel," Queen's Road, is garnishee. Notice is hereby given thereof, aud that if at any time before final judgment in this action the said HENRY WILLIAM HYATT or any Person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordi- nance of this Island, intituled "An Ordinance to provide for and regulate Process in Actions at Law against Persons absent from the Colony," the said Attachment may be dissolved.

Contents and Value of Packages are required. ** A written declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overland Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shippers to the Coin- pany's Agents with the Bill of Lading, or with Parcels; and the Company do not hold them- selves responsible for any Detention or Preju- dice which may happen from incorrectness on such declaration. Shippers of Cargo on the Company's Black Bills of Lading are particu- larly requested to note the Terms and Conditions of these Bills of Lading, with reference to the Transhipment and forwarding of Cargo, with a view to the adequateness of their Insurance Policies in respect of the same.
