Notice is hereby given, that the Surveyor General has received orders to make immediate arran- gements for carrying into effect the conditions of the recent Sale of Land at Show-ke-wan; that is to say, with reference to the removal of Shops or other encroachments upon proposed lines of Streets, and the execution of such portions thereof, as are required to be made by the Government.

Crown Tenants, Purchasers at the above Sale on the 3d and 16th Ultimo, and Grantees of Land, are accordingly required to conform to the Boundaries of their respective Lots; and all unauthorized Persons now occupying any portion of the same, or any portion of Government Land, are to remove all materials therefrom within One Month from the present date.

A written declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overland Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shippers to the Com- pany's Agents with the Bill of Lading, or with Parcels; and the Company do not hold them- selves responsible for any Detention or Preju- dice which may happen from incorrectness on such declaration.

HEREAS an Action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above named WILLIAM GASKELL against the above named WILLIAM WALLS to recover the sum of Seventy there Dollars fifty cents for work done for the SUB WILLIAM WALLS by the said WILLIAM GASKELL at his request and for money paid by the said WILLIAM GASKELL for the use of the said WILLIAM WALLS and it being alleged that the said WILLIAM WALLS does not reside within this Island or its dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued return- alle on the Twelfth day of March next wherein WILLIAM HASTINGS ALEXANDER Registrar of the Supreme Court of Hongkong is garnishee. Notice is hereby given thereof, and that, if at any time before final judgment in this ection, the said WILLIAM WALLS or any person on his behalf will give the Security and Notice, and Ale the appearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island No. 2 of 1855 enrituled "An Ordinance to provide for, and regulate process in actions at Low against persons absent from the Colony" the said "Atta■liment may be

dissolved.
