GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

A Premium of One Thousand Dollars will be given by the Government for the best and most practicable Scheme for providing the City of Victoria with a constant and sufficient supply of Pure. Water. The Report must be accompanied with Specifications, Plans, and Working Drawings, and a detailed Estimate of the whole service. It is not contemplated to expend a larger sum than £25,000, and it is hoped that the work may be efficiently executed for a much smaller outlay.
The Reports must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and reach his Office by noon of the 1st February 1860, when they will be submitted to the decision of a Committee of non-competitors appointed for the purpose by His Excellency the Governor.
