THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, 7 JANUARY, 1860.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

A Premium of One Thousand Dollars will be given by the Government for the best and most practicable Scheme for providing the City of Victoria with a constant and sufficient supply of Pure Water. The Report must be accompanied with Specifications, Plans, and Working Drawings, and a detailed Estimate of the whole service. It is not contemplated to expend a larger sum than £25,000, and it is hoped that the work may be efficiently executed for a much smaller outlay.

The Reports must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and reach his Office by noon of the 1st February 1860, when they will be submitted to the decision of a Committee of non-competitors appointed for the purpose by His Excellency the Governor.

Whereas on the morning of the 22d instant, a Burglary, accompanied by the murder of one Lew SAM-WOH was committed at Show-kia-wan: Notice is hereby given, that a REWARD of

TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS

will be paid by this Government to any one giving such information as shall lead to the conviction of any person or persons engaged in the said murder.

This Notice has been duly circulated in the Chinese language.

Contents and Value of Packages are required.

A written declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overlund Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shippers to the Com- pany's Agents with the Bill of Lading, or with Parcels; and the Company do not hold them- selves responsible for any Detention or Preju- dice which may happen froin incorrectness on such declaration.

Certificate of the filing of the Plaintiff's Bill; and the Plaintiff by his Solicitor undertaking to bide by any Order our said Court might there- after think fit to make respecting any damages that might be occasioned to you the Defendants by the Order of our said Court, made on the said Twenty-second day of September, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-nine, having been granted, and having signed the Registrar's Book to that effect accordingly, our said Court did order that an injunction should be awarded against you, the Defendants, THOMAS EMERSON GREENHOW, HENRY DRESSER, GEORGE BAY- LEY, and WILLIAM RIDLEY, to restrain you the said Defendants and your Agents, or any other person or persons, from selling or disposing of, causing or procuring to be sold or disposed of, the Ship or Vessel called the "Justyn," in the Plaintiff's Bill mentioned, advertised to be sold as therein mentioned, until the bearing of the said cause, or our said Court should make other order to the contrary : We therefore, in consideration of the premises, do hereby strictly onjoin and restrain you the Defendants, THOMAS EMERSON GREENHOW, HENRY DRESSER, GEORGE BAYLEY, and WILLIAM RIDLEY, and your Agents, or any other person or persons, under the penalty of Six Thousand Pounds, to be levied upon your and each and every of your Lands, Goods, and Chattels, to our use, from selling or disposing of, or causing or procuring to be sold or disposed of, the Ship or Vessel called the "Justyn" in the Plaintiff's Bill men- tioned, advertised to be sold as therein mention- ed, until the hearing of this cause, or our said Court make other Order to the contrary.
