His Excellency SIR HERCULES GEORGE ROBERT ROBINSON, Governor and Commander-in-Chief, having returned to the Colony on the 8th instant, has resumed the Administration of this Government from that date.

The Honorable Jons SMALE, Esquire, Attorney General, and FRANCIS CHOMLEY, Esquire, have been duly Sworn in as Justices of Peace for the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies.

All Parties indebted to the Crown for Arrears of Crown Rents due on the 24th of June last, are requested to pay the sane at the Treasury, on or before the 21st Instant; on which date the names of all defaulters will be forwarded to the Crown Solicitor for collection of such Arrears.

Tenders will be received at the Surveyor General's Office on or before noon of Wednesday, the
18th instant, for the necessary Excavation for laying down about 18,000 feet run of 10-inch diameter
iron water piping, at per foot run.
Plans and Specifications for the same may be secca at the Surveyor General's Office.
