His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint J. SIDNEY SMITH, Esquire, of the Royal Navy to be one of the Government Marine Surveyors in place of JABEZ LOANE, Esquire, who has resigned on proceeding to England.

MERCER, Esquire, to be a Member, and Acting Chairman, of the Board of Education in place of Dr. BRIDGES, who has resigned his Seat on his approaching departure for England; and His Excellency is also pleased to appoint the Honorable ANGUS FLETCHER, Esquire, to the Scat at the Board resigned by the Reverend J. J. IRWIN.
