GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency The Governor, with the Advice of the Executive Council, has fixed the Police Rate for the Year 1862 at Seven-and-a-half per Cent for Houses in the City of Victoria, and Five per Cent for Houses in the Villages of this Island.

In addition to which on Houses in Victoria a Lighting Rate of One-and-a-half per Cent will be levied, in accordance with the terms of Ordinance No. 11 of 1856.
