GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The Honorable W. H. ADAMS, Esquire, Chief Justice of Hongkong, having obtained leave of absence on Medical Certificate, the Acting Governor has been pleased to appoint HENRY JOHN BALL, Esquire, to be Acting Chief Justice; and JOHN CHARLES WHYTE, Esquire, to be Acting Judge of the Court of Summary Jurisdiction, until further notice.

Mr. WHYTE will continue to perform the duties of Second Police Magistrate.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received at the Surveyor General's Office, until noon of the 16th Instant, for the construction of an additional School Room and Arcade at the Central School, Gough Street.

Plans and Specification may be seen on application at the Surveyor General's Office, between the hours of 11 A.M. and 3 P.M. .

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

With reference to Government Notification No. 25 of the 25th ultimo, it is hereby made known that His Excellency the Acting Governor has granted to CHUN HANG, of the Lai Yune Shop, No. 98, Jervois Street, and YEEP CHENG CHUNE, of the Chun Yune Shop, No. 37, Bonham Strand, the Exclusive Privilege of preparing and selling prepared Opium within the Colony of Hongkong and the waters thereof, for the period of One Year from the 1st of April, 1863.
