GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

At the request of the Spanish Consul in this Colony, it is hereby made known, for general information, that the Government of the Philippines has, pursuant to Orders from Madrid, resumed the Monthly Auction Sales of manufactured Tobacco for exportation to Foreign Countries.

Tenders will be received at this Office until Noon on Saturday the 21st Instant, from persons willing to contract for the fitting up a Vessel as a Convict Hulk.

All particulars can be obtained on application to the Harbour Master.

It is hereby notified that the services of eight Europeans are required by this Government to form the Staff of the Convict Hulk intended to be anchored off Stone Cutters' Island.

The services of a Chinese, as Interpreter, will also be required. Salary $384 per annum. Applications accompanied by Testimonials or Certificates to be sent in to this Office on or before the 21st Proximo.
