NOTICE TO MARINERS.
THE PERIOD OF FLASH OF SHIRASU LIGHTHOUSE.
NOTICE is hereby given that the period of flash of Shirasu Lighthouse, Southwestward of Aino-shima, Western entrance to Shimonoseki Strait, which has been irregular owing to the examination of its revolving machine (see the notification No. 493 of the Department of Communications, August, 1907), has been restored as previous.

HARBOUR NOTIFICATION.
No. 6 OF 1907.
REFERRING to Harbour Notification No. 3 of 1907, Notice is hereby given that the Superintendent of Customs with the concurrence of the Consular Body, has decided to with- draw the declaration of infection, and to suspend the operation of Quarantine Regulations, as regards vessels from the port of Hongkong, from this date.
The importation of the following articles from the above port is still prohibited, except under the conditions prescribed in each case :---
Rags, Old Paper-unless accompanied by a certificate of disinfection from the
Medical Officer at the port of shipment.
Coffins containing Corpses--unless accompanied by a certificate from the Medical Officer of the port of shipment that the coffin is in sound condition, and that death occurred at least six months before shipment.
Earth and Mould-except adherent to plants, or bulbs, in small quantities and cleanly packed, and accompanied by a certificate from the Medical Officer of the port of shipment that the earth and mould are from a plague-free district.
Old Gunny-bags-unless they are accompanied by a certificate of disinfection giving marks for identification, or have been so cleaned as to show no trace of their former food contents, are liable to be refused entry.
