PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency SIR HERCULES GEORGE ROBERT ROBINSON, Knight, Governor and Commander- in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas The Right Honourable EDWARD CARDWELL, M.P., Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies, has communicated to this Government Her Majesty's pleasure with regard to the treatment of Vessels of War belonging to either of the Belligerent Powers in North America as recited in the following Order in the London Gazette of 9th September, 1864-
FOREIGN OFFICE, September 8, 1864.
It is hereby notified that Her Majesty has been pleased to order, that for the future, no Ship of War belonging to either of the belligerent powers of North America shall be allowed to enter, or to remain, or be, in any of Her Majesty's ports for the purpose of being dismantled or sold; and Her Majesty has been pleased to give directions to the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Customs, and to the Governors of Her Majesty's Colonies and foreign possessions, to see that this Order is properly carried into effect:-
Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the above Prohibition will be strictly enforced in this Colony.

Notice is hereby given that a Sale of Land by Public Auction will be held on Wednesday, the 16th November next.
On this occasion a Plot of Ground at Kowloon suitable for the erection of Docks will be offered for sale.
Further particulars will be published on the 29th instant.

With reference to Government Notification No. 159 of 22nd instant, the following Schedule of the Lots for sale is published for general information.
The Plot of Ground at Kowloon suitable for the erection of Docks will be put up to Auction at the Stores of Messrs. BOWRA & Co. in Queen's Road, at 3 P.M. precisely, and the remaining Lots will be afterwards sold on the ground.
The Plans and Conditions of sale may be seen upon application at the Surveyor General's Office between the hours of 11 A.M. and 3 P.M,
