The following notices have been issued during the month :---

On the 26th at 11 40 a. "The barometer has fallen rapidly in Luzon owing to a typhoon which has approached the E. coast of the island near Manila. The disturbance is expected to move in a Westerly direction and to cause rough 'weather over the China Sea during the next two or three days. Pressure is highest over China to the North of the Yangtze. It is giving way slowly in S. China. Strong N.E. winds are expected to prevail. in the Formosa Channel and along the Northern shores of the China Sea.” Forecast:-

N.E. winds, fresh to strong; fair."

At 5.50 p.-Orders issued to hoist the Red Cone point downwards and Drum. typhoon has crossed Luzon to the North of Manila and entered the China Sea.

On the 27th at 11.55 a.- "The barometer has fallen slightly on the coast of China and risen considerably over the Philippines and E Japan. The typhoon is probably situated about S.S.E. of Hongkong and East of the Paracels. It appears to be moving towards W.N.W. Pressure is highest over N. China and the Sea of Japan Strong N.E. winds are indicated in the Formosa Channel and rough weather over the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast N. E. and E. wind, probably freshening to a moderate gale; squally."
