With reference to Government Notification No. 25 of the 1st February last, the following addi- tional Notice to Mariners on the subject of the Round Island Light, Trincomalic, received by the last Mail from the Government of Ceylon, is published for general information.

The red refractors of Round Island Light, Trincomalie, having been removed, the Fixed Bright Light will be observed from every point of the horizon.
This Notice should be considered with the Notice dated Master Attendant's Office, Colombo, 19th December, 1863.

M. 20th Regiment, has been appointed, from the 5th Instant, Private Secretary and Aide-de-Camp to His Excellency the GOVERNOR and Commander-in-Chief, in the room of Lieutenant II. A. ATKINSON, II. M. 99th Regiment, resigned.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Notice is hereby given that the Syingpoon Market, South, will be ready for occupation on the 2nd May next.
Parties desirous of obtaining Stalls and Shops are required to register their names at the Office of the Surveyor General; and on the 23rd of April, at 3 P.M., at the said Market, Parties so having their names registered will be entitled to draw lots for Stalls and Shops, in accordance with the provisions of the Markets' Ordinance, No. 9 of 1858.
83 Stalls and 6 Shops will be available in the Market.

POST OFFICE NOTIFICATION.

It having been represented that Vessels frequently leave this Port for Bangkok and other places without the notice required by Clause 15 of Ordinance 8 of 1862 having been given to this Department, it is hereby notified that all persons who do not comply with the requirements of that Clause of the Ordinance will be proceeded against for the recovery of the penalty imposed for the offence.

POST OFFICE NOTIFICATION.

With reference to the Notification dated 22nd December, 1862, which was published in the Government Gazette No. 53 of the 27th December, 1882, it is hereby notified that on and after the 1st May next correspondence addressed to India to be forwarded by Private Vessels, will be despatched unpaid, postage at the rate of 4 pence per ounce letter being levied only upon correspondence received by such Vessels.
