POST OFFICE NOTIFICATION.

With reference to the Notification dated 22nd December, 1862, which was published in the Government Gazette No. 53 of the 27th December, 1862, it is hereby notified that on and after the 1st May next correspondence addressed to India to be forwarded by Private Vessels, will be despatched unpaid, postage at the rate of 4 pence per ounce letter being levied only upon correspondence received by such Vessels.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

It is hereby notified that in consequence of the Water supply at present provided being sufficient for the service of Victoria Proper only, the Water Rate will not be levied on Premises situate North- ward of the Wanchai Market and East of Albany Street till further notice.

On the South side of the road, the Police Station will be the Boundary.

Pursuant to notice from the Colonial Treasury, bearing date 12th February last, Crown Lessees are informed that the List of Defaulters in arrears of Crown Rents is being prepared for transmission to the Court of Summary Jurisdiction.

The attention of the Public is called to Government Notification No. 34 of the 16th ultimo requir- ing Police and Lighting Rates due for the current Quarter to be paid into the Colonial Treasury before the 5th instant, and also to the 16th Clause of Ordinance No. 5 of 1863 under which Persons will be proceeded against who shall neglect the said requisition.
