TREATY OF COMMERCE AND NAVIGATION BETWEEN HER MAJESTY AND THE KING OF ITALY.
SIGNED AT TURIN, AUGUST 6, 1863.
[Ratifications exchanged at London, October 29, 1863.]
In the Name of the most Holy and Indivisible Trinity. HER Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and His Majesty the King of Italy, being desirous of extending and facilitating the relations of commerce between their respective dominions and subjects, have re- solved to conclude a Treaty for that purpose, and have named as their respective Plenipotentiaries, that is to say:
Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom. of Great Britain and Ireland, &c., Sir James Hudson, a Knight Commander of the Most Ho- nourable Order of the Bath, Her Majesty's Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to His Majesty the King of Italy;
And His Majesty the King of Italy, Giovanni Manna, Senator of the Kingdom, Grand Officer of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus, Minister Secretary of State for Agriculture, In- dustry, and Commerce;
Who, after having communicated to each other their respective full powers, found in good and due form, have agreed upon and concluded the following Articles :-
ARTICLE I.
There shall be between all the dominions and possessions of the two High Contracting Parties, reciprocal freedom of commerce and navigation. The subjects of each of the two Contracting Parties,
In Nome della Santissima ed Indivisibile Trinità SUA Maestà il Re d'Italia e Sua Maestà la Regina del Regno Unito della Gran Bretagna e d'Irlanda, desiderosi di estendere e facilitare le relazioni di commercio tra i loro rispettivi dominii e sudditi, hanno determinato di conchiudere un Trattato per questo scopo, ed hanno nominato a loro rispettivi Plenipotenziarii, cioè:---
Sua Maestà il Re d'Italia, Giovanni Manna, Senatore del Regno, Grande Ufficiale dell' Ordine dei Santi Maurizio e Lazzaro, Ministro Segretario di Stato per l'Agricoltura, l'Industria, ed il Com- mercio;
E Sua Maestà la Regina del Regno Unito della Gran Bretagna e d'Irlanda, Sir James Hudson, Commendatore dell' Onorevolissimo Ordine del Bagno, Suo Inviato Straordinario e Ministro Pleni- potenziario presso Sua Macstà il Re d'Italia;
I quali, dopo essersi reciprocamente comunicati i loro rispettivi pieni poteri, riconosciuti in buona e debita forma, convennero nella stipulazione dei seguenti Articoli:--
ARTICOLO I.
Vi sarà tra tutti gli stati e possessi delle due Alte Parti Contraenti libertà reciproca di commer- cio e di navigazione. I sudditi di ognuna di esse Parti Contraenti avranno facoltà di entrare libera-
