FRANCKE MUCKTESTON ALLEN, Esquire, and CHARLES TOOKEY, Esquire, having reported their arrival in this Colony are appointed respectively Superintendents of the Coining and Assay Departments of the Hongkong Mint, under instructions from the Right Honorable The SECRETARY OF STAte for THE COLONIES.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

It is hereby notified that Official intimation has been received from Her Majesty's Consul at Shanghae of the publication on the 4th instant of "the China and Japan Order in Council 1865," which therefore with the Rules of Procedure framed under its provisions will commence to take effect from the 4th day of September next.
