exceeding Two Years, with or without Hard Labour, and with or without Solitary Confinement; and every Person who shall aid, abet, counsel, or procure the Commission of any Misdemeanor punishable under this Ordinance shall be liable to be proceeded against, indicted, and punished as a principal Offender.
48. Whenever any Person shall be convicted of a Misdemeanor under this Ordinance for keeping the Peace; it shall be lawful for the Court, if it shall think fit, in addition to or in lieu of any of the Punishments by this Ordinance authorized, to fine the Offender, and to require him to enter into his own Recognizances, and to find Suretics, both or either, for keeping the Peace and being of good Behaviour; and in all Cases of Felonies in this Ordinance mentioned it shall be lawful for the Court, if it shall think fit, to require the Offender to enter into his own Recognizances, and to find Sureties, both or either, for keeping the Peace, in addition to any of the Punishments by this Ordinance authorized; Provided that no Person shall be imprisoned under this Clause for not finding Sureties for any Period exceeding One Year.

49. Whenever Imprisonment, with or without Hard Labour, may be awarded for any Offence under this Ordinance, the Court may sentence the Offender to be imprisoned, or to be imprisoned and kept to Hard Labour, in the Manner heretofore used and approved in this Colony.
50. Whenever Solitary Confinement may be awarded for any Offence under this Ordinance, the Court may direct the Offender to be kept in Solitary Confinement for any Portion or Portions of his Imprisonment, or of his Imprisonment with Hard Labour, not exceeding One Month at any One Time, and not exceeding Three Months in any
One Year.
51. This Ordinance shall commence and take effect on the the Year

It is hereby made known, that Her Majesty's Exequatur has been duly granted to Gustavus OVERBECK, Esquire, as Consul at Hongkong for the Emperor of Austria.

The following Gentlemen have been nominated by His Excellency the Acting Governor, Cathedral Trustees on behalf of Government for the Year 1865-66, under the provisions of Ordinances No. 2 of 1847 and No. 3 of 1850-

J. SIMPSON, Esquire.
And SHEARMAN G. BIRD, Esquire, is appointed on the same behalf, Auditor of Cathedral Account for the said year.
It has also been notified to this Government, that FRANCIS PARRY, Esquire, and ROBERT SCOTT WALKER, Esquire, were clected Trustees for the Year 1865-66 by the Seatholders of the Cathedr in accordance with the terins of the Ordinances above referred to.
And that W. C. HUNTER, Esquire, was nominated on the same behalf, Auditor of Cathedral Accounts for the said year.
