GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

His Excellency the Acting Governor is pleased to recognize FRANKLIN D. WILLIAMS, Esquire, as Acting Vice-Consul for the United States of America, in the place, and at the request, of HORACE N. CONGAR, Esquire, about to leave the Colony, pending the pleasure of Her Majesty's Government, or until further notice.

With reference to Government Notification No. 31 of the 24th Ultimo, it is hereby made known that His Excellency the Acting Governor has granted to HÜ NÜ, of the Peng-kee Shop, No. 25, Jervois Street, the Exclusive Privilege of preparing and selling prepared Opium within the Colony of Hongkong and the Waters thereof, for the period of One Year from the 1st of April, 1865.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

With reference to Government Notification No. 135 of 24th August last, it is hereby notified for general information that a claim has been put in by one Tăng Ting Sam as head of the Tăng Family to 48 Acres of cultivated Land at Kowloon. Chinese deeds showing the titles of certain members of the Tăng Family to the above having been verified at the District Magistrate's Office, Crown Leases will therefore be forthwith granted to the aforesaid Tăng Ting Sam.
