GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Whereas between the evening of Saturday the 4th, and the morning of Monday the 6th instant, the Treasure Vault of the Central Bank of Western India was burglariously entered, and a large sum in Notes, Gold and Silver abstracted therefrom, it is hereby made known that, in addition to

A REWARD OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS

to be paid by the said Bank,

A FURTHER REWARD OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS

will be paid by this Government to any person or persons giving such information to the Captain Superintendent of Police as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of any of the perpetrators of

the above offence.

The following Return of Notes in Circulation and Specie in Reserve at the Bank of the ORIENTAL BANK CORPORATION, in Hongkong, is published for general information.
