With reference to Government Notification No. 51 of 28th March last, it is hereby notified that the QUEEN'S Exequatur empowering THEODOR PROBST, Esquire, to act as Prussian Consul at Hongkong has received Her Majesty's signature.

His Excellency The GOVERNOR has been pleased to appoint provisionally JOHN CLARKE, Esquire, to be Acting Assistant Surveyor General, from the 8th Instant till further notice, vice SHEARMAN G. BIRD, Esquire, absent on sick leave.
Mr. CLARKE will at the same time perform the duties of Assistant Engineer in the Surveyor General's Department.
