PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Major General JAMES ROBERT BRUNKER, Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through His Grace The Duke of BUCKINGHAM AND CHANDOS, Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinances, namely:-
No. 2 of 1868, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to enable the Governor to co-operate with the Chinese Authorities for the Suppression of Piracy;
No. 6 of 1868, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to authorize the Appropriation of a Supplementary Sum not exceeding One hundred and Thirty-five thousand Dollars to defray the Charges of the Year 1867:
Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinances have been so approved and confirmed, as aforesaid.
