T is hereby notified that the second floor of the flouse hereinafter mentioned, that is to say, 47, Praya, West, was on the Fifth Day of November, 1868, pursuant to Section XXIII of the above Ordinance, declared by me under my Hand and Seal of Office to be un Unlicensed Brothel.

WILLIAM REYNVAAN, Defendunt. HEREAS au Action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above named Yue Cheong, against the above named William Reynvaan trading under the style or firm of Reynvaan Brothers and Company of Hongkong to recover the sura of Two thousand Five hun- dred Dollars, for money payable by the Defen- dant to the Plaintiff, for monies received by the Defendant for the use of the Plaintiff and for damages for the breach of a Charter party made between the Plaintiff and the Defeudant, whereby it was agreed that the ship Java (North-german barque) of seven thousand two hundred piculs

Port for the above places, with Mails, Passengers, Specie, and Cargo, on the 25th instant, at 2 P.M. Cargo and Specie will be registered for London as well as for Marseilles, and accepted in transit through Marseilles for the principal places of Europe.
Cargo will be received on board until 4 P.M. of the 24th Instant, Specie and Parcels until 5 P.M. of the 24th Instant. (Parcels are not to be sent on board; they must be left at the Agency's Office.)

to Yokohama with a full Cargo of lawful Mer- chandise which the said Plaintiff agreed to ship, and there deliver the same, Freight for the same being payable, Fifteen hundred Dollars at Hongkong, and the balance at Yokohama after delivery of the said Cargo at the rate of Thirty eight Cents per picul, (certain perils and casual- ties in the said Charter party mentioned only excepted,) and all conditions were fulfilled and all times elapsed necessary to entitle the Plaintiff to have the said Charter party fulfilled and per- formed by the Defendant on his part, yet the ship did not proceed from Hongkong to Yoko- hama, and the Defendant could not and did not perform his said Agreement and it being alleged that the said William Reynvaan does not reside within this island or its dependencies, a writ of Foreign attachment has been issued, returnable on the Sixteenth Day of November, next, wherein Malcolm Struan Tonnochy, Esquire, Sheriff of Hongkong, Collinson, Master of the British barque Leen-fa, T. Mouset, Super- cargo of the said barque, George Barty Falconer, Registered owner of the said barque, and Francis Williams Mitchell, Esquire, Postmaster General of Hongkong, are Garnishees.
Notice is hereby given thereof, and that if at any time before final judgment in this ac- tion, the said William Reynvaan or any per- son on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island intituled “An Or- dinance to provide for and regulate Process in Actions at Law against Persous absent from the Colony," the said Attachment may be dissolved. Dated this Thirty-first day of October, A.D., 1868.

NOTICE HANS KLER of Bank Buildings,
Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, As- sistant to S. L. Heinemann, Broker, having been adjudged Bankrupt under a Fetition for adjudi- cation of Bankruptcy, filed in this Court on the Twenty-first day of October, One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty-eight, is hereby re- quired to surrender himself to the Honorable William Hastings Alexander, Esquire, the Re- gistrar of the said Court, at the first Meeting of his Creditors, to be held before the said Registrar, on the Sixth day of November, next, at Eleven of the clock in the forenoon precisely, at the said Court.
Frederick Sowley Huffam, Esquire, is the Official Assignee, and Mr. Edmund Sharp is the Soricitor acting in the Bankruptcy.
A public sitting will be appointed by the Court for the said Bankrupt to pass his last examina- tion, of which sitting notice will be given in the Hongkong Government Gazette.
At the first Meeting of Creditors the Re- gistrar will receive the proofs of the debts of the Creditors, and the Creditors may choose an Assignee or Assignees of the Bankrupt's estate and effects.
At the public sitting, proofs of debts of Creditors will be received and the Bankrupt will be required to submit himself to be examined and to make a full disclosure and discovery of all his estate and effects and to finish his examina- tion.
Notice is also hereby given to all persons indebted to the said Bankrupt or that have any of his effects not to deliver the same but to the Official Assignee and to give notice to the Soli- citor acting in the Baukruptcy.
