10. Playing in the Licensed Houses shall not commence before 6 A.M. and shall cease at 11 P.M., or earlier if so ordered by the Officer administering the Government.

11. Not more than 7 per cent discount shall be claimed by the Proprietor of any House on the Gains of the Players.

12. No Proprietor of a Licensed House or Person connected therewith shall on any account give money or articles of value directly or indirectly to any Person in Government employ either by way of reward, bribe, gratuity, or payment for service.

13. No Persons other than those of the Chinese, Malay, and Indian Races, shall be, unless authorised thereto under these Regulations, permitted to enter any of the said Licensed Houses.

14. All Licensed Houses within these Regulations shall be closed as hitherto on Sundays, and no Play allowed therein on any pretext under pain of forfeiture of License and Deposit Money.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Notice is hereby given that on and after Monday, the 21st day of September, it has been ordered by the Governor in Council, under Section 18 of Ordinance No. 9 of 1867, that no European, American, Portuguese, Foreigner, or Individual not of Chinese, Indian, or Malay races, shall be admitted into any of the Licensed Play Houses in Hongkong.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Owners of Tenements assessed to the Police, Lighting, Water and Fire Brigade Rates, are informed that the Rates are payable in advance, during and within the month of October, for the Fourth Quarter of the present year.

After the 31st instant, Rates not paid are recoverable under Section 4 of Ordinance No. 11 of 1867.

NOTICE.

Consignees and Masters of Ships are hereby informed that, after the 15th Proximo, the Boundary, North of which Vessels shall not anchor, is as follows:-

Kellet's Island bearing E. by S. 4 S.

All Ships to be properly moored with 35 fathoms Chain (East and West.)

The passage between the North Boundary of Men-of-war anchorage and the Kowloon Peninsula is to be kept clear.

The Mail Steamers to moor near the Fort William, but South of her.

Steamers and Vessels not having any definite employment will still remain on the North side.
