PROCLAMATION.
[L.S.] RICHARD GRAVES MACDONNELL.
By His Excellency SIR RICHARD GRAVES MACDONNELL, Knight, and Companion of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas by Section IV of Ordinance No. 2 of 1868, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to enable the Governor to co-operate with the Chinese Authorities for the Suppression of Piracy, it is enacted as follows:-
"This Ordinance shall commence and take effect on such Day as shall hereafter be fixed by "Proclamation under the Hand of the Governor, and shall cease to have any effect after the expiration "of Twelve Months from that Day:"
Now, therefore, I, SIR RICHARD GRAVES MACDONNELL, Governor of the Colony of Hongkong, in pursuance of the said Section and by virtue of the authority thereby in me vested, do hereby under my hand Proclaim that the said Ordinance shall commence and take effect on the First Day of July now next ensuing.

The following Order by THE GOVERNOR in Council is published for general information.

Made by His Excellency Governor SIR RICHARD GRAVES MACDONNELL, C.B. in Council,
this 9th Day of June, 1868.
1. It is hereby ordered, that the Orders of the Governor in Council of the 28th September, 1867, the 4th October, 1867, the 18th October, 1867, and the 9th April, 1868, shall be and they are hereby revoked, from and after the 1st day of July now next ensuing, being the date fixed by Proclamation of the Governor for the coming into operation of Ordinance No. 5 of 1868; and in lieu thereof, it is ordered that the Stamps to be used under Ordinance No. 12 of 1866, and Ordinance No. 5 of 1868, shall be, from and after the last mentioned date,--
2. First, Adhesive Stamps of the respective values of 2 cents, 3 cents, 25 cents, 30 cents, 50 cents, $1, and $1.50, and Secondly, Impressed or Embossed Stamps of the respective values of 2 cents, 10 cents, 15 cents, 25 cents, 30 cents, 50 cents, 75 cents, $1, $1.50, $2, $2.50, $3, $4, $4.50, $5, $6, $6.50, $8.50, $10, $10.50, $20, $25, $40, $50, and a Stamp bearing the Words "Adjudication Fee Paid."
