"HEREAS an Action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above named Kwok-a-foon and Low-a-hoy, against the above named John H. Ladd, to recover the sum of One thousand Six hundred Dollars, for that the Defendant on the Fourteenth day of September, One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty-eight, by his Promissory Note now over- due promised to pay to the Plaintiffs One thou- sand Four hundred and Twenty-nine Dollars, three months after date, but did not pay the same, and for money payable by the Defendant to the Plaintiffs for interest upon money due from the Defendant to the Plaintiffs and forborne at in-- terest by the Plaintiffs to the Defendant at his request; and it being alleged that the said John H. Ladd does not reside within this Island or its dependencies, a writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued, returnable ou the Twenty-fifth day of May instant, whereiu Thomas Cushing Ladd is Garnishee.

Notice is hereby given thereof, and that if at any time before final judgment in this Action, the said John H. Ladd or any person on his behalf, will give the security and notice, and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordi- nance of this Island, intituled "An Ordinance to provide for and regulate process in Actions at Law against persons absent from the Colony," the said Attachment may be dissolved.

Cargo and Specie will be registered for London as well as for Marseilles, and accepted in transit through Marseilles for the principal places of Europe.
Cargo will be received on board until 4 P.M. of the 19th May, Specie and Parcels until 5 P.M. of the 19th. (Parcels are not to be sent on board; they must be left at the Agency's Office.)
