POST OFFICE NOTIFICATION.
It is hereby notified that in consequence of the increasing difficulties which attend the transmis- sion of the Mails for the United Kingdom through France, it has been determined to send these Mails, for the present, by way of Brindisi, the Brenner Pass, Prussia and Belgium.
The rates of postage, which must be paid in advance, upon correspondence whether marked via Marseilles or via Brindisi, will be as follows, viz. :—
The United Kingdom,.. The United States of America,
FOR LETTERS.
...38 cents for each half-ounce. .42 cents for each half-ounce.
FOR NEWSPAPERS AND PRICES CURRENT.

8 cents each. .10 cents each.
FOR BOOK PACKETS AND PACKETS OF PATTERNS.
