The Humble Petition of
a Prisoner in Victoria Gaol,
Showeth :
1. That Your Petitioner was on the

[or last,] committed to Gaol by A. B., Esquire, Police Magistrate, as a Fugitive from Justice, there to await the Order of His Excellency the Gov- ernor, under the Provisions of the above Ordinance.
2. That Your Petitioner has been advised [or believes] that the said Order of Committal ought to be reversed on the following Grounds that is to say: [State Grounds.]
3. That Your Petitioner has given Notice to the Magistrate of his Desire to ap- peal against the said Order, but the Magistrate has refused to grant the said Appeal.
Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that this Honorable Court will
