as he shall think proper: Provided always that if any such Person shall have been prevented from attending to be examined as aforesaid by Reason of Sickness or other unavoidable Cause, it shall be lawful for the Examiners to permit such Notice to be renewed within the said Period of Six Months.
XXIV. Every Person who shall have been bound under Articles Affidavit of as aforesaid shall before he can be admitted and enrolled as an duc Service. [23 & 24 Vic.; Attorney under Section VII prove by an Affidavit of himself or c. 127 s. 10.] of the Attorney to whom he was bound as aforesaid to be duly made and filed in the Supreme Court, that he has actually and really served and been employed by such practising Attorney during the whole Time and in the Manner required by this Ordinance, and that he has not held any Office or engaged for any Employment contrary to the Provisions of Section XIV, and the said Affidavit shall be in such Form as shall be approved of by the Chief Justice.

XXV. Every Person who shall apply to be admitted and Oaths to be enrolled under Section VII as an Attorney, and Proctor of the taken. Supreme Court, shall, before Admission and Enrolment, subscribe the Oath or Declaration and Affirmation of Allegiance in the Form prescribed by Ordinance No. 4 of 1869, and also the Oah or Declaration and Affirmation following :-
"I, A. B., do swear, [or solemuly, sincerely, and truly declare and affirm] that I will truly and honestly denean myself in the Practice of an Attorney, Solicitor, and Proctor according to the best of my Knowledge and Ability," [and in the Case of an Oath,] "So help me God."
And the said Oaths or Declarations and Affirmations shall be tendered by the Chief Justice.
XXVI. The following Fees shall be paid to the Registrar for Fees payable his own Use under this Ordinance :-
On the Filing of the Affidavit required by Section XI,

On the Enrolment and Registration of Articles or of any
Assignment of Articles under Section XII, $5.
On the Entry of such Articles or Assignment in the Book to be opened to Public Inspection under Section XII, $5. On the Registration of a Public Notary, $5.
The following Fees shall be payable to the Registrar for the Use of the Crown upon Admission to Practice as an Attorney, and I roctor of the Supreme Court under this Ordinance :-

On the Admission of every Person under Section VI, $50. On the Admission of any Person under Section VII, $250. XXVII. The Chief Justice may from Time to Time make Rules Rules of to be approved by the Governor in Council to define and regulate Practice for the Practice of Barristers, and Attornies respectively, within the the Profession. Colony, and may from Time to Time with the like Approval repeal or vary the same.
XXVIII. Every Person who shall either directly or indirectly Penalty for practise or act within this Colony as a Barrister, Attorney, or unlawfully Proctor, without having been admitted or enrolled by the Supreme practising. Court either before or after the Passing of this Ordinance, or as a Public Notary without having been duly registered as herein before provided, or who without possessing any Qualification as a Barrister, Attorney, Proctor, or Notary Public, shall act as such or prepare any Document whatever for Fee or Reward, shall be liable for every such Offence to forfeit to the Crown a Penalty not exceeding Two hundred Dollars to be recovered by the Attor ney General upon a Rule or Summons before the Chief Justice.
XXIX. The Supreme Court shall have Power, in Case of the Suspension Infraction of any of the Rules to be made under Section XXVII from Practice 1856 s. 10.] or for any other reasonable Cause, to suspend from Practice for and Striking any Period any Barrister, Attorney, or Proctor, or to revoke his Admission and Enrolment and remove and strikę his Name from the Rolls of the Court.

XXX. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to abridge Ordinary or affect in any Way, the Ordinary Jurisdiction and Powers of Jurisdiction the Supreme Court in Relation to Barristers, Attornies, Proctors, the Court not and Public Notaries, or the Remedies now existing by Law for to be affected. any Offence against the Provisions of this Ordinance.
