The following Report from the Superintendent of the Hongkong Fire Brigade, is published

SIR-I have the honor to place in your hands, for submission to the notice of His Excellency the Leutenant-Governor, the Report of the Fire Brigade for the month of June ultimo.
A Parade and Inspection of the "Volunteer" and "Government" Brigades was held-on the 18th The Assembly took place at the Cross Roads at 5.30 P., and from thence the Engines, &c. taken to the vicinity of the Harbor Master's Office. Ten Engines were present, viz :- Steam Engine of "Hongkong" Insurance Company, Hand Eugine of "Imperial" Insurance ny, Three Hand Engines of Chinese Associations, Two Government Brigade Steam Engines, Three Government Brigade Hand Engines.

t to work from the the sea; the remainder were supplied with water from the "Mains. kong" Insurance Company's Scean Engine had about 1,300 feet of Delivery Hose run out and e first to work, but owing to a derangement of the machinery did not act with its usual powerful and the Engine after a short time was stopped.
The other Engines were in good order and worked satisfactorily.
The Subsidiary Fire Stations were visited during the month and the Implements and Hose brought Work from the "Mains;" with the exception of the necessity for a few trivial repairs (which have flected) all were found in order; and the Volunteers in charge of the Hose and Implements rstood how to bring them into work.
An Inspection of the Government Brigade Engines, Implements and Stores was held at the Cross Sat 6 P.M. 30th June. All were examined and found clean and in good order.
The Engineer of the Brigade reported that the Steam Engines were in good order; and that - the month the machinery had been thoroughly overhauled and cleaned.
