it is hereby notified for general information that, henceforward the rates of Postage, which must advance, chargeable upon Book and Pattern Packets posted at Hongkong, or at any of the Ptal Agencies in China and Japan, to be forwarded by the British Contract Mail Fuckets to tralian Colonies and New Zealand, will be as follows, viz.

For a Packet not exceeding 1 ounce in weight,...

Saled Tenders will be received at this Office, up to Noon of Monday, the 27th Instant, for the ge of Slaughtering Cattle in the Western Slaughter House, for the Year commencing the 1st of ilar, but Separate, Tenders will be received for the like Privilege at the Eastern Slaughter The Conditions in either case shall be such as are set forth in "The Markets Ordinance, 1859," The Markets Ordinance, 1867," and the Bye-Laws issued thereunder, and shall be subject to modifications as may be made by any subsequent revision of those Ordinances, or of those Bye-Laws. The Conditions shall also exclude the right to interfere with the Slaughtering of Gants by or for Indian Troops.

Each Tender must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and state the exact Amount offered as

Rent, which Rent shall be payable monthly, and in advance.

The Tender should also state the calling and residence of the party tendering, and afford similar mation as to the Sureties to be offered.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received by the Registrar General, until Monday, the 20th instant, for cleansing Public Dust Bins, and removing the Night Soil from Public Latrines and Colonial Public Bugs in Victoria, for Twelve Months, commencing on the 1st July next.

The Contractor will be bound by the Rules and Regulations made by the Governor in Council 21st Day of June, 1867, and by such other Rules and Regulations as may be passed during riod over which the Contract extends.

Each Tender must specify the exact amount offered for the whole year, which sum will be

e in advance, and they must contain the Names and Residences of the proposed Sareties. Further particulars regarding the number and position of the Dust Bing, éto, can be obtained

the Surveyor General's Office.
