NOTICE.

In the Matter of the Companies Ordinance, 1865, and of The China and Straits Steam Navigation Company, L’ted.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Petition for

the winding up of the above named Coin- pany by the Supreme Court of Hongkong in its Equity Jurisdiction was on the 10th day of November, 1871, presented to the Honorable the Chief Justice of the said Court by Francis Chom- ley and Polido Francisco da Silva two of the contributories of the said Company and that the said Petition is directed to be heard before the said Court on the 22nd day of November, 1871, and any Creditor or Contributory of the said Company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding up of the said Company under the above Ordinance should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his Counsel for that purpose and a copy of the Petition will L fur- nished to any Creditor or Contributory of te said Company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
