and all other Persons, to produce any Wills or Codicils of the above named parties, de- ceased, that may be in their possession, before the Supreme Court, in its Probate Jurisdiction, on Friday, the Twenty-fourth day of November, A.D. 1871; or, if none, that the next of Kin do accept or refuse Letters of Administration, fail- ing which, Letters of Administration will be granted to the Registrar of the said Court, or such other person as the Court may think fit.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Petition for
the winding up of the above named Coin- pany by the Supreme Court of Hongkong in its Equity Jurisdiction was on the 10th day of November, 1871, presented to the Honorable the Chief Justice of the sail Court by Francis Chom- ley and Folidoro Francisco da Silva two of the contributories of the said Company and that the said Petition is directed to be heard before the said Court on the 22nd day of November, 1871, and any Creditor or Contributory of the said Company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding up of the said Company under the above Ordinance should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his Counsel for that purpose and a copy of the Petition will be fur- nished to any Creditor or Contributory of the said Company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

HE above work, which has been chiefly cer-
piled for the purpose of aiding students is. the study of Chinese literature, comprises masy characters not met with in any of the Dictionaries hitherto published.
The selection of between 8,000 and 9,600 char racters will make it comparatively easy to and a character without counting the "strokes of t compound figures, (minus the radical), and the addition of the Synonyms will prove a great brip to such as are anxious to acquaint themselse more minutely with the character of the la guage.
The work contains 584 Imperial Octavo pag** and is neatly bound in cloth.
