Tenders will be received at the Registrar General's Office up to Noon of Tuesday the 26th December, for the Privilege of preparing and selling Prepared Opium within this Colony for Six Months from the 1st January 1872, under the Conditions set forth in Ordinance No. 2 of 1858, and in the Additional Regulations of the 27th July, 1869.

Each Person tendering must produce a Receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the Sum of $1,000 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which Sum will be forfeited to the Crown, if such Person shall fail to carry out his Tender.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Tender.

The following Notice from the Acting Emigration Officer is published for general information.

NOTICE.

Applications for Passage Broker's Licenses for the Year 1872, under Ordinance No. 11 of 1857, will be received at this Office, from this date up to 31st December, next.

Applicants are requested to state the Names and Address of the Parties they offer as Sureties under Clause 1 of the Ordinance aforesaid.

The following Notice from the Acting Harbor Master is published for general information.

Colonial Secretary's Office, Hongkong, 11th November, 1871.

NOTICE

All Persons intending to apply for Seamen's Boarding House Licenses for the Year 1871-72, under Ordinance No. 6 of 1852, are to send in their Applications in writing to this Office, on or before Tuesday, the 21st November, stating accurately the position of the House, and that there is an entire dwelling intervening between it and any House licensed for the sale of Spirituous or Fermented Liquors.

In measuring the rooms, strict regard will be paid to the Regulations laid down on 1st January, 1855, and no License will be granted to any House that does not come within the full meaning of the Ordinance.

Before a License can be issued, the Applicant will be required to produce the sanction of a Police Magistrate.
