GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Tenders for Contracts for the supply of the Articles, included in the undermentioned Schedules, > the Government Civil and Lock Hospitals, for the space of One Year commencing on the 26th of December, 1871, will be received at this Office until Noon of the 1st of December, 1871.

Tenders may be made for all four Schedules, or for each separately.
The Contractor will be required to enter into a Bond for the due fulfilment of his Contract, and or the supply of all Articles of the best quality.
Tenders must be in Duplicate, and in sealed envelopes, endorsed "Tenders for Hospital Contracts." Forms of Tender, and all other information may be obtained from the Superintendent of the lovernment Civil Hospital.
No Tenders will be received unless the Person tendering shall produce a receipt to the effect that e has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $200 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, hich sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such Person shall refuse to carry out his Tender.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest, or any Tender.

The following Notice, received from the Government of India, is published for general information.

NOTICE.
J. GARDINER AUSTIN, Colonial Secretary.
Inasmuch as the Harbour of Port Canning, at the mouth of the river Mutlah in Bengal, has not attracted trade and has answered the purpose for which the harbour was established, notice is hereby given to all merchants, shipowners, and ipmasters trading to Bengal that-
From the 15th October 1871, or from such day after that date as may be convenient, all harbour establishments will, der the order of His Excellency the Viceroy of India in Council, be withdrawn from Port Canning; the moorings and buoys the river Mutlah will be taken up, and Port Canning will no longer be maintained as a British Indian Port.
The outer light vessel and the buoy at the entrance to the river Mutlah will, until further notice, be maintained for the venience of ships and vessels trading in the Bay of Bengal.
