His Excellency Major-General WAITFEILD, Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, and Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, has been pleassi to recognize RUDOLPH JENSEN, Esquire, as Acting Consul for Sweden and Norway at this Port during the absence of GEORGE J. HELLAND, Esquire, and subject to the pleasure of Her Majesty's Government.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

REWARD OF 250 DOLLARS.

Whereas on Monday, the 28th Instant, at about 7 P.M., a Robbery with violence was committed upon Mr. GEORGE L. TOMLIN, First Clerk in the Surveyor General's Department, near the junction of Caine Road and Arbuthnot Road:-It is hereby notified, that a Reward of $250 will be paid to any Person or Persons who shall give such Information to the Police as will lead to the apprehension at conviction of the guilty Parties.

The above Reward will be apportioned at the discretion of His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, in the event of such Information being supplied by more than one Person.

A Free Pardon will be granted to any Person implicated in the Crime who may give su Information, provided he be not the actual perpetrator thereof.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The following Bill, which will be laid on the Table of the Legislative Council for the fir Reading after the expiration of one month from this date, is published for general information.

All Persons possessing Property which they consider may be affected by the Provisions of t proposed Ordinance, are invited to send in to the Colonial Secretary full Particulars in writing of s Property and of the Injury or Prejudice, if any, which they believe may accrue thereto from t erection of the Public Pier authorized by the Bill.

A Plan of the intended Pier, may be inspected at the Office of the Surveyor General.
