HEREAS it is expedient to provide for the Trial and Punish- ment of Offenders to whoin a Pardon has been granted under Ordinance No. 1 of 1860 and who may be found at large within the Colony, in Violation of the Condition of such Pardon: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:--
I. The following Enactments are hereby repealed, that is to say: Section II of Ordinance No. 1 of 1860, and Ordinance No. 16 of 1870. II. If any Offender to whom a Pardon shall have been granted, either before or after the Passing of this Ordinance under the Provisions of Ordinance No. 1 of 1860 on Condition of his quit- ting the Colony, be afterwards found at large therein without lawful Authority or Excuse the Proof whereof shall lie upon him, he shall be guilty of a Felony or of a Misdemeanor according to the nature of the Offence for which he shall have received such Conditional Pardon, and shall on Conviction thereof before the Supreme Court be liable in the Discretion of the Court to any Sentence not exceeding the whole of his original or commuted Sentence, such Sentence to commence from the Date of the Cri- minal Session at which he shall be tried and convicted under this Ordinance.
III. This Ordinance and Ordinance No. 1 of 1860 shall be read together and construed as One Ordinance.

CONDITIONS OF SALE.
1. The highest bidder above the upset price shall be the Purchaser, and if any dispute arise the Lot shall be put up again at a former bidding.
2. No person shall at any bidding advance less than $50.
3. Immediately after the fall of the hammer, the Purchaser shall sign the Memorandum Agreement hereinafter contained for completing the purchase according to these Conditions, and shall within Three Days of the day of Sale pay into the Colonial Treasury a deposit of one half of the amount of Premium at which the Lot shall have been knocked down, and within one Calendar Month from the day of Sale at the aforesaid Treasury pay the remaining half of the said Premium.

4. The Purchaser of the Lot shall be entitled to and shall execute on demand a Lease from the Crown of the Piece or Parcel of Ground comprised in such Lot for 999 years, to be compute from the day of
1871, at such Annual Rental payable half yearly on the 24th day of D cember, and the 24th day of June in every year as is specified in the Particulars of such Lot herein. before contained; and such Crown Lease shall be subject to and contain all the exceptions, reservations covenants, clauses, and conditions usually inserted in the Crown Leases of Inland Lots in the Colosy of Hongkong and contained in the Printed Form of Crown Lease in Schedule A annexed hereto.
