GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
His Excellency Major-General WHITHEILD, Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, and Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, has been pleased to recognize GEORGE FREDERICK WELLER, Esquire, as Acting Vice-Consul for Russia at this Port, during the absence of GEORGE FARLEY HEARD, Esquire, and subject to the pleasure of Her Majesty's Government.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Tenders will be received at the Registrar General's Office up to Noon of Monday, the 10th July, for the Privilege of preparing and selling Prepared Opium within this Colony for One Year from the 1st of August, 1871, under the Conditions set forth in Ordinance No: 2 of 1858, and in the Additional Regulations of the 27th July, 1869.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Sealed Tenders will be received at this Office, up to Noon of Monday, the 26th June, for the Privilege of Slaughtering Cattle in the Western Slaughter House, for the Year commencing the 1st of July next.
Similar, but separate, Tenders will be received for the like Pivilege at the Eastern Slaughter House. The Conditions in either case shall be such as are set forth in "The Markets Ordinance, 1858. and "The Markets Ordinance, 1867," and the Bye-Laws issued thereunder; and shall be subject to such modifications as may be made by any subsequent revision of those Ordinances, or of the Bye-Laws.
The Conditions shall also exclude the right to interfere with the Slaughtering of Goats by, the Indian Troops.

Each Tender must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and state the exact Amount offered Annual Rent, which Rent shall be payable monthly, and in advance.
The Tender should also state the calling and residence of the party tendering, and afford simila information as to the Sureties to be offered.
