GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The following Notice from the Honorable the Registrar General, is published for general information.

Colonial Secretary's Office, Hongkong, 18th March, 1871.

NOTICE.

His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor in Council having been pleased to direct that the Census for 1871 should be taken on the 2nd proximo, blank Schedules will be served on all Occupiers of the whole or portions of Houses in Hongkong and its Dependencies.

If any Occupier be overlooked in the distribution of Schedules, or if a Schedule be accidentally aislaid or destroyed, the deficiency can be supplied on application at the Registrar General's Office.

Where one Schedule is insufficient, others may be obtained in the same way, or from the distributing Officer.

This Notice refers only to the British and Foreign Population.

These Returns are required to complete the decennial Census which will be taken on April 2nd throughout the Queen's Dominions.
