The following Notice to Mariners, received from the Government of Bombay, regarding the New Light on the Island of Perim in the Red Sea, is published for general information.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

Colonial Secretary.

Notice is hereby given that a new Catadioptic holaphotal revolving Light of the 2nd order, flashing at intervals of one (1) Minute has been placed on Perim Island in the Straits of Bab-el-Mandeb, instead of the old Light.

The Light is 241 feet above the level of the Sea, and is visible from a Ship's deck about 23 miles in clear weather.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received at this Office until Noon, on Monday, the 20th instant, for the erection of a Lodge in the New Government Gardens, Albany Road.

The Plan and Specification can be seen, and a proper Form of Tender obtained, at the Surveyor, General's Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Tender.
