The following Report from the Superintendent of the Hongkong Fire Brigade is published for general information.

FIRE BRIGADE OFFICE, HONGKONG, 3rd February, 1871.
SIR, I have the honor to place in your hands for submission to His Excellency the Lieutenant- Governor the Report of the Government Fire Brigade for the raonth of January.
An Inspection was held at the Central Fire Brigade Station on the 14th January. The Steam and Hand Engines, Hose in use and in store, Supply Carts, Implements and Equipment generally, were examined and found clean and in order.
Reads at 4 P.M.
A Parade and Inspection was held on the 31st January. The Assembly took place at the Cross
The Chinese Volunteers and the Chinese owned Engines were in attendance. The Engines were taken to the Praya and brought into work. No. 1 Steam Engine with four branches of Delivery Hose and No. 2 Steam Engine with two branches, all worked satisfactorily and the Engines were back at their respective stations at 5 P.M.
