PROCLAMATION.
VOL. XVII.
By His Excellency HENRY WASE WHITFEILD, Major-General Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, and Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through The Right Honorable The Earl of KIMBERLEY, Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinances; namely:-
No. 5 of 1870, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to authorize the Appropriation of a Supplementary Sum not exceeding One hundred and Forty-one thousand Dollars to defray the Charges of the Year 1869;
No. 8 of 1870, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice
of the Legislative Council thereof, for enabling the Governor in Council to make Regu lations for the Maintenance of Good Order and the Protection of Property in Public Buildings, Gardens and other Places ;
No. 9 of 1870, entitled An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend Ordinance No. 8 of 1860, and to make further Provision in relation to the Administration of the Estate and Effects of
Deceased Persons ;
No. 10 of 1870, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for compensating the Families of Persons killed by Accidents arising from Negligence;

No. 11 of 1870, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend the Law respecting the Liabilities of Innkeepers;
No. 12 of 1870, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice
of the Legislative Council thereof, to make Provision for the Enforcement of Rights of Re-entry by the Crown, and for the Granting of Relief agai ist Forfeiture:- Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinances have been so approved and confirmed, as aforesaid.
