An Inspection of the Government Fire Engines, Stores and Implements was made on the 19th November: all were found clean and correct. The three Hand Engines were worked for a few minutes, and found in order.

A Parade and Inspection was had on the 29th of November. The Assembly took place at the Cross Roads at 4 P.M. and thence the Fire Engines were taken to the Praya West, and all brought into work from the Sea. No. 2 Steam Engine and the Hand Engines, also Three Engines of Chinese Associations were found in order; but after working No. 1 Steam Engine for some time, it was discovered by the indications of the steam guage that the boiler was not sufficiently supplied with water by the feed pipe.
