GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The following Regulation made by His Excellency the Governor in Council, in pursuance of Section V of Ordinance No. 10 of 1872, is published for general information.

The Section referred to is as follows:-

"V. Every Person shall be liable to a Penalty not exceeding Ten Dollars who shall utter Shouts or Cries or make other Noises while playing the Game known as Chai-Mui, between the Hours of “11 P.M. and 6 A.M. within any District or Place not permitted by some Regulation of the Governor "in Council."

Made by the Governor in Council, in pursuance of Section V of Ordinance No. 10 of 1872,

this 27th Day of September, 1872.

It is not permitted to utter Shouts or Cries or make other Noises while playing the Game known as Chai-Mui, between the Hours of 11 P.M. and 6 A.M. in No. 5 District, Queen's Road, the Praya, Bonham Road, and the District to the South thereof.

NOTICE.

A. E. KENNEDY, Governor.

Owners of Tenements assessed to the Police, Lighting, Water and Fire Brigade Rates, are informed that the Rates for the Fourth Quarter of the year 1872 are payable in advance, during and within the month of October next.

Rate-payers are requested to take notice that Parties in default in payment of Rates after the period specified, are liable to be sued in the Court of Summary Jurisdiction.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received at this Office, till Noon of Wednesday, the 2nd October, for the making up and supply of the undermentioned Clothing for the use of the Staff of Victoria Gaol; namely:-

64 Serge Jackets.

50 pairs Serge Trowsers.

And also for the making up-of material to be supplied by Government-of

14 Cloth Jackets.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received at this Office, until Noon on Monday the 30th instant, for the erection of a Bridge near Aberdeen.

The Plan and Specification can be seen, and further particulars learnt, at the Office of the Surveyor General.

A proper Form of Tender can be obtained at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Tender.
